I am an artist who, after years of hesitation, finally embraced what has always been a part of me: the need to create. The whole 14 years after someone called me an artist the first time. I remember clearly sitting there in disbelief if I really can call myself that.
My journey as a painter however officially began in May 2025 when I made a decision to commit. To commit to myself and my dream. The spark has been inside me for much longer, quietly waiting for permission to grow.
Since then, I have immersed myself in the world of colour, texture, and form finding any resource that would help me on my journey to gain clarity and reassurance.
I have explored a variety of techniques, often unable to express my own vision due to lack of skill back then, yet honoring my instincts. Each canvas is a space for experimentation, reflection, and discovery—a place where curiosity leads and mistakes are embraced as part of the process. I am sure I will write more about not getting caught up in pursuit of perfection. I am learning to unlearn overthinking.
I paint because I must - it is my way of understanding the world, it allows me to invite others into a space where emotion, thought, and colour intersect. Yet, truly, I am doing it for myself - for the process and for everything I am learning alongside painting, the obstacles I had to overcome and the qualities I had to develop.
Balancing a full-time job and life’s daily responsibilities with my art is challenging, but the joy of carving out space for something that feeds the soul is simply mandatory. My work is a reflection of this journey: intimate, honest, and always evolving.
